Because it does not rely on language or prior knowledge, APM‑III provides a culturally fair way to evaluate problem‑solving ability, analytical thinking, and general cognitive capacity, making it widely used in education, professional assessment, and psychological research.
The Ravens Advanced Progressive Matrices (APM) III is a non-verbal assessment tool designed to measure abstract reasoning and problem-solving ability. It is based on the original work of John C. Raven, who developed the first version in the 1930s to assess general cognitive ability, often referred to as "fluid intelligence."
The APM III version is specifically tailored for higher-ability individuals and is widely recognised for its use in both educational and occupational settings. The test includes 23 questions and a time limit of 40 minutes
